After the removal of Article 370, the tricolor was hoisted on the occasion of Republic Day in the newly created Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Girish Chandra Murmu hoisted the tricolor and took the salute of the security forces.
